This year for the first time women could join the WK Amsterdam in a special female competition. The Indonesian team, initiated and supported by Women Win, won the competion after an exiting final match against Cape Verde.
In the weekend of May 31th and June 1st 2008, the 8th World Championship Football tournament of Amsterdam was played. Eigth teams joined the first female competition in the history of the event: Surinam, Ghana, Cape Verde, Morocco, Indonesia, Turkey, Colombia and Holland. As an extra prize for the winning team, Women Win donated tickets for an upcoming international match of Holland against Belgium.
The Indonesian team was initiated and supported by Women Win, and all the players proudly wore their Women Win t-shirts. After winning the competition, the Indonesian team had a surprise for Women Win as well: they donated their prize money of 1200 euro to Women Win.
