ADVISORY Council

Marianne Meier

Marianne Meier is a historian and political scientist who studied in Switzerland, USA and Italy. She is the deputy head of the centre for Sport and Development and researcher at the Swiss Academy for Development (SAD).

In 2005 she was mandated by the Swiss government (SDC) to conduct a cross-cultural study specifically focussing on gender equity, sport and development in Iran, Zambia, and Northern Caucasus. Furthermore Marianne Meier conducted workshops on monitoring and evaluation for NGOs in Sri Lanka, Kenya, South Africa, Morocco, and Namibia.
