AMA Association has promoted various activities for the benefit of girls, women and youth in Petén, Guatemala. They are aware that their work must be constantly innovated in order to provide a better and greater response to the inequalities and violence experienced by girls and women, especially those from rural and indigenous communities, since they are discriminated against three times: for being a woman, for being indigenous and for living in rural communities with low economic resources.
AMA's tool for helping girls achieve their rights is football. Historically, it has been a sport practiced mostly by men, therefore in a quest for innovation in promoting better relations and preventing violence against women, it is essential to promote women’s participation in this sport.
Women Win partners with AMA to deliver the Gap P.A.C.E. Women's and Younger Girls' life skills programs, as well as a football + life skills program with support from Summit Foundation.
