Socio-Economic, Ecological, Religious, Virtuous Empowerment (SERVE)

SERVE stands for Socio-Economic, Ecological, Religious, Virtuous Empowerment and was established in 1999 by a group of experienced Sri Lankan professionals working with children. SERVE is a registered non-profit organisation, dedicated to improve the overall quality of people, especially children, without discrimination of gender, race, caste, social level, religion or political differences. SERVE’s vision is to contribute to a society that supports and ensures equality, dignity and humaneness of people, and they work in partnership with local and foreign partner organisations, individuals, private sector, government and non-governmental organisations. SERVE focuses on projects empowering children and their families from different perspectives, including psychosocial support, child centered community development and protection of children of imprisoned mothers.

With support from Women Win, SERVE has been implementing the Goal programme since November 2017, using karate and netball to empower adolescent girls from low-income communities across Sri Lanka.
