Tackling global gender inequity isn’t a battle we can conquer alone. We believe sports programmes for girls is key to advancing girls’ rights globally. We cultivate strong, equitable partnerships with grassroots organisations to help leverage their programmatic and organisational capacities. Grassroots organisations lead transformative thinking; they see first-hand and understand the needs of the girls in their communities. Please read below for a list of our current partnerships.
Humanitarian Response with Capital Kids Cricket
The Humanitarian Response programme is to provide life skills education and sports to adolescent girls in humanitarian settings. It sets up education centres, sports hubs and social enterprises in refugee camps in the Middle East for refugee children and women. Their projects are run for – and, in large part, run by – refugee communities.
Goal with National Organisation for Women in Sport Physical Activity and Recreation (NOWSPAR)
National Organisation for Women in Sport Physical Activity and Recreation (NOWSPAR) is a Zambian NGO comprised of women and men who believe that sport, physical activity and recreation have the power to foster social change and increase an individual’s quality of life. They are an implementing partner of Goal, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.
Girl Power Through Sports with Community Psychosocial Support Organisation (CPSO)
Community Psychosocial Support Organisation (CPSO) responds to the needs of South Sudan refugee women, adolescent girls and children, who have escaped the civil war in South Sudan and live in refugee camps in northern Uganda. The programme’s vision is that the most marginalised adolescent girls are empowered to address gender-based violence (GBV) in their lives.
Girl Power Through Sports with Girl Determined
Girl Determined is an NGO that brings together adolescent girls from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds in Myanmar to grow their access to education, health knowledge, participation in decision-making and personal development. The programme’s vision is that the most marginalised adolescent girls are empowered to address gender-based violence (GBV) in their lives.
Las Luchadoras, La Sandia Digital, and A Toda Voz with Fondo Semilas
Fondo Semillas is a women’s fund founded in Mexico City. They support Sport for Development projects that aim to empower girls and young women and prevent gender-based violence in Mexico.
Goal with Street League
Street League is the UK’s leading youth charity tackling unemployment through sport. They are an implementing partner of GOAL, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.
Goal with Junior Achievement Mascareignes
Junior Achievement Mascareignes is located in Mauritius and aims to create awareness amongst local youth of the conditions necessary for social and economic development, and provide them the skills and virtues of entrepreneurship, work readiness, financial literacy, business ethics and good governance. They are an implementing partner of GOAL, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.

Founded in Jakarta, Indonesia, Yayasan Mitra Mandiri Indonesia is a non-profit organisation that aims to empower girls and young women through sport. Goal with INJAZ for the Creation of Opportunities for Jordanian Youth
INJAZ for the Creation of Opportunities for Jordanian Youth is a Jordanian national program. They work under three main pillars: workforce readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship. They strive to bridge the gap between education and the requirements of the labor market through hands-on, highly relevant training and mentoring programmes delivered by volunteer business leaders and entrepreneurs. They are an implementing partner of GOAL, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.

BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania is a Tanzanian microfinance organisation. Their main programmatic interventions include microfinance, education, early childhood development, and empowerment and livelihood for adolescents. The Right to Foundation in Ghana opens professional pathway opportunities for young people through football, education and character development programmes. Next Gen ROLL Models with Skateistan
Skateistan is an international non-profit organization which empowers children through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. The goal of the programme is to strengthen the leadership of young female leaders in Germany, Greece and the Netherlands, empowering and funding them to deliver social skate projects with girls in their communities.
Goal with Enactus
Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders in China who strive towards creating a better, more sustainable world. ENACTUS students conduct needs assessments in their community, identify potential solutions to complex issues and implement community impact projects. They are an implementing partner of Goal, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.

Childreach Nepal is an organisation which works with local communities to help empower and educate at-risk young people. One of the organisation’s programmes is a sports initiative where young people are provided with a safe place to take part in football training. BoMoVu is an association based in Turkey, aimed at promoting social empowerment and inclusion of vulnerable groups, such as refugees, through sport and body movement. The programme’s vision is that the most marginalised adolescent girls are empowered to address gender-based violence (GBV) in their lives.
Goal with Rawafed Development and Learning Centre
Rawafed Development and Learning Centre works with youth from low-income backgrounds and aims to empower them as individuals by providing them with basic education and career development opportunities through Goal. Located in Sri Lanka, Socio-Economic, Ecological, Religious, Virtuous Empowerment (SERVE) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving projects that empower children and their families through psychosocial support, child-centered community development and the protection of children of imprisoned mothers. Goal with Right to Play Pakistan
Situated in Lyari and the Shirin Jinnah areas of Karachi, Pakistan, Right to Play Pakistan uses sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict and disease in disadvantaged communities. Coaches across Continents is a global NGO providing year-round resources through their two brands and four divisions. They work with corporations, governments, foundations, and community-based organisations to Create Legacies based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals: CL17 Influence; CL17 Innovate; CAC Impact; and CAC Instruct.
International Sports Programming Initiative with Girls Rugby Inc.
Located in the USA, Girls Rugby Inc. provides young girls the opportunity to become the leaders and change-makers of tomorrow using a leadership and values-based curriculum delivered through sport.
One Win Leads to Another with Empodera
Empodera is a non-profit organisation based in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, and one of the many incredible things they do is support organisations to incorporate and improve the delivery of programmes that promote gender equity and empower adolescent girls through a rights-based approach.
International Sports Programming Initiative with World Chicago and Queens University of Charlotte
World Chicago and Queens University of Charlotte are part of the International Sports Programming Initiative (ISPI). The initiative uses sports to help underserved youth around the world develop important leadership skills, achieve academic success, promote tolerance and respect for diversity, and positively contribute to their home and host community. Women Win, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of State, aims to empower the most marginalised youth in East Asia and the Western Hemisphere.
Goal with Junior Achievers Korea
Junior Achievers Korea aims to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Through life skills programmes focusing on financial literacy and work readiness, JA Korea works to expand youth education and economic development in Seoul, South Korea. They have been an implementing partner of Goal since 2019, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.
Goal with Youth Achievement Sports for Development
Based in Zimbabwe, Youth Achievement Sports for Development uses sport and educational programmes to engage youth and address challenging social issues such as teenage pregnancies, unemployment and HIV/AIDS. They have been an implementing partner of Goal since 2019, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.
ROLL Model with AbenteuerHallen KALK
Located in Cologne, Germany, this programme is open to young people, and aims to educate them in various areas, including personal development and interpersonal skills. They offer a number of different sports, such as climbing, BMX, skateboard, scooter, and artistry as drivers of change.
Goal with WOMEN:Girls
WOMEN:Girls is situated in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Malaysia. They specifically use netball as a vehicle to help increase their confidence and improve team work skills. They have been an implementing partner of Goal since 2019, Standard Chartered’s flagship education programme under the global Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative.
StreetGames
Organised by StreetGames, European US Girls is a funded two-year project (Jan 2017 – Dec 2018) by Erasmus+ Sport. Its objective is to increase access and the participation levels of disadvantaged young girls in sport. It works with grassroots organisations in Italy, Denmark, France, Poland and The Netherlands. The organisations collaboratively create and share in-field best practices, and hope to build an online network to share further insights.
CHANGE: Enhancing Skills in Sport for Development
Led by the European Observatoire of Sport and Employment (EOSE) and funded through the Erasmus+ Sport Programme of the European Union, CHANGE aims to equip European leaders within the sporting world the necessary skills and competences to be effective in their role. Through the two-year CHANGE project, the participating partners learn how to implement the EOSE 7-Step model.
Step Up Equality
The Step Up Equality (SUE) Project is a three-year project funded by the European Commission. The SUE Project envisions gender equality within European sport and aims to achieve this by promoting the importance of women in leadership positions.
