Joan Nyaki
Joan is from Kenya and joined Women Win in February 2022 as a Programmes Coordinator, focusing on strengthening Women’s Economic Resilience and Empowerment in global supply chains.
For the past several years, Joan was the HERproject Country Representative for Kenya at BSR–Business for Social Responsibility and was responsible for representing HERproject in Kenya. Her portfolio included identifying strategic partners and providing the technical expertise necessary to scale impact. Joan has shared critical insights at various local and global fora. In Kenya, she provided rigorous day-to-day management of programmes centred on health, gender, and financial inclusion, successfully navigating the unique operational demands of garment factories, flower farms, and tea estates.
With an educational background spanning both social development and corporate strategy, Joan earned her MBA in Management from the University of Suffolk, England and an undergraduate degree in Community Development, supported with a minor in Business Administration and Management from Daystar University, Kenya. Over the past 16 years, she has supported women by coordinating women-focused collaborative programmes in partnership with the private sector and civil society organisations in East Africa.
Joan enjoys exploring the outdoors and discovering new music.
